Home modification expenses can be deducted on your tax return

If you have to make any modifications to your home to take care of a handicapped individual, then those expenses can be deducted as Medical Expenses on your personal tax return.

These modifications should not be making permanent improvements to the house, rather they should be purely for the purpose of accomodating the handicapped individual.

If you have incurred such expenses check them out to see if they qualify for deduction. If you like we can help you interpret those expenses to see if they qualify. Send us an email at morani@amoranicpa.com
